Play and Creativity

Currently studying Play Therapy with the University of Roehampton. Study will complete May 2024.

By incorporating play therapy into my practice, I can offer comprehensive support to clients of all ages, facilitating healing and personal growth through a therapeutic process that is engaging and effective.

For Young Children:

  •  Create a Safe Haven: Play therapy provides a non-threatening space for young children to express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through play.

  •  Foster Communication: It helps kids communicate their feelings and worries, even when words are hard to find.

  • Promote Emotional Development: Encourage emotional growth, social skills, and problem-solving abilities in a nurturing environment.

For Young People:

  •  Connection and Trust: Establish stronger bonds with adolescents by engaging them in a medium they can relate to and feel comfortable with.

  • Empowerment: Empower teenagers to explore their identities and address issues they face with increased confidence.

  • Problem-Solving: Foster creative thinking and self-awareness, allowing them to cope with life’s challenges more effectively. Creative Prob

For Adults:

  •  Stress Relief: Play therapy isn’t just for kids – adults can benefit from its stress-reducing effects and improved mental health.

  • Explore Past Trauma: Delve into unresolved issues, trauma, and difficult experiences through play, leading to healing and growth.

  • Improve Relationships: Enhance interpersonal skills and communication, paving the way for healthier relationships.

'Effective therapy will address the developing (or poorly developed) brain region in the mode that is best suited to it.

Disruptions in early development can be targeted through sensory and tactile play approaches' - Prendville and Howard (2017)

"You are the one thing in this world, above all other things, that you must never give up on. When I was in middle school, I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression and the help and support I received from my family and a therapist saved my life. Asking for help is the first step. You are more precious to this world than you'll ever know." Lili Reinhart
