'Sam has so much knowledge, care and understanding. She has truly helped me so much and I will be eternally thankful for this. For a long while I felt alone and not knowing where to turn as unfortunately there is not much support for the situation I am in, however, Sam turned this around not just for me but for my children too as they need a happy mummy and having someone there to truly listen and support has been undeniable.

Sam is extremely inspiring and encouraging. I am currently studying psychology and sociology degree and finding my pathway which I think may bring me to schools.  Not only has she been there as support but the encouragement she has given to see my future more positively and clearly has been such a huge step for me.

Thank you Sam so so much for giving me a safe space and the tools I need to continue my beautiful journey'  - L. - Survivor (abuse, divorce and childhood neglect)

Testimonials

'Sam is insightful, compassionate and very knowledgeable. She has been an invaluable support to many of the families in our school community, supporting children and parents to overcome a wide variety of challenges. After working with Sam, I have seen parents become more confident in supporting and understanding their children and I have observed pupils become happier and calmer. Her work has been transformational for some of our families.' Rose McCloskey, Assistant Principal, Fulbridge Academy.

'Sam is a pleasure to work with. It was evident from the first time I worked with her that she was extremely competent and knowledgeable in her role working with children and families. She has a good understanding of the varying needs faced by families, and her academic qualifications and experience enable her to offer effective evidence-based support. She is clearly motivated to supporting others, and in my experience this has always been done with great care and respect.' Jen Perna - Chartered Forensic Psychologist and Senior Clinician

I started talking to Sam as a victim of domestic violence, after our sessions together, I realised I am a survivor of domestic violence. Sam helped me to understand that it's not my fault and it's ok to feel what I'm feeling, I shouldn't have to apologise as I am just going through a process.

Sam gave me a safe place to talk to her; I could shout, scream cry, yell or just be quiet. I don't think I gave her chance to speak sometimes! Sam heard about some horrible things and she did this all without judgement. She gave me a place to be me again. Sam helped me to understand my feelings and helped me know what that feeling was, so I could experience it, and move on. Some feelings came back, and that's ok, other feelings went forever.

Sam is kind and caring; she understands the world for women and children living through tough times. She always had time for me and everyting I said was heard and valued.' RFB - Survivor

‘I immediately felt at ease with Sam, and was able to comfortably share information and our experiences as a family of our son’s ADHD. Sam is warm, empathetic and understanding whilst having a robust knowledge of not only the physical workings of the ADHD brain, and the mental challenges but also the emotional consequences that may occur. She offered us a sound insight into what our son is experiencing, and brilliant recommendations for making reasonable adjustments at school and at home. As a family we now feel far more confident in the management of our son’s ADHD.’ H - Parent Support.

‘My counselling with Sam has been a lifesaver! I don’t know how I would've gotten through what I have so far without her. Just knowing I have a meeting coming up would help. Having a non-judgemental and empathetic person has really made opening up easier. I feel like I can trust her with anything that I have on my mind/experiences. She’s been the best and I can’t thank her enough.’ - F.  Survivor (domestic abuse)
